Org of One
[ 00 — Org of One ]

Your mission needs your staff, not their paperwork.

We build AI systems for grants, donor research and reports, so the hours go back to the mission; a person reviews every draft.

[ 01 — Many hats ]

One director. Fourteen hats.

Grants, payroll, the board packet, volunteer shifts, the website, the thank-you notes.

[ 02 — The pledge ]

September 14, 2026. A funder committed at least $1 billion.

The Gates Foundation announced plans to spend at least $1 billion over the next two years.

[ 03 — The back office ]

The back office draws in.

Case notes. Donor research. Grant reports. Board packets.

[ 04 — The mission ]

Back to the mission.

[ 05 — You ]

You came here to serve.

Not to reformat the same report for a fourth funder.

[ 06 — The people ]

Fewer forms. More people served.

Every hour off the paperwork goes back to the work itself.

[ 07 — Learn and build ]

Learn it on your work. Keep it after we go.

Teach

Your staff learn AI on the work already on their desks: grant drafts, case notes, donor letters and board reports.

Build

Tools that respect your budget, your data rules and each funder’s terms, handed over with notes your team can follow.

[ 08 — Signals ]

What moved in the sector.

[ 09 — Trust ]

Every donor record is a promise.

Write the AI policy before anyone pastes in a donor list.

[ 10 — Next cycle ]

Next grant cycle, read the fine print.

Funders set their own AI rules. Check each one before you draft.

[ 11 — Consult or Build ]

Borrow the hours. Or the coaches.

Build

$15,000 a month

Build-with-you coaches · a shared 24/7 rotation

We help you find the leaks and stop them: hours lost, errors made and sales missed in work your team repeats.

  • Each month, pick up to 5 business processes for us to work on. Work starts in week one. Anything not finished carries into next month’s 5.
  • A business process is one job your team repeats, start to finish. Like: a donor gift becomes a thank-you letter.
  • Each one becomes a working automation in your own tools, tested on your real work and taught to your team.
  • Build Plus and Build Program handle more than 5 at once. New software products and replacing a core system are quoted separately.
  • You own everything we build.

[ Questions ]

What is Org of One?
Org of One (orgofone.com) is run by Utlyze for small nonprofits and mission-driven teams. It covers practical AI for the back office: policies, grant writing within funder rules, donor data, program reporting and first projects.
Who is Org of One for?
Executive directors and operations leads at nonprofits with few staff and tight budgets, who answer to funders, donors, volunteers and a board.
Does a small nonprofit need an AI policy?
If staff or volunteers use AI tools, a short written policy helps. It usually names approved tools, the data that must never go in, who reviews output, and what you tell funders and donors. This is general education, not legal advice.
Can we use AI to write grant proposals?
Check each funder’s rules first, because they differ. Whatever you submit, your organization stays responsible for its accuracy. This is education, not fundraising-compliance advice.
How do we protect donor data when staff use AI?
Keep donor records out of consumer AI tools. Use business accounts with data controls, limit who can reach donor data, and write the rule down. Privacy law varies by place, so confirm specifics with a qualified adviser.
What is a good first AI project for a five-person nonprofit?
One repetitive task with a clear quality check: drafting thank-you letters, summarizing case notes or turning program data into a first-draft report. A person reviews every output before it leaves the building.
Can AI help turn program data into an impact report?
It can draft the narrative and tables from data you already hold. Every number still needs checking against the source records, and anything about the people you serve should stay anonymous.
How much are Consult and Build?
Consult is $400 an hour, booked in 5-hour blocks, so a first booking is $2,000. Build is $15,000 a month. Each month, pick up to 5 business processes for our build-with-you coaches to work on. They build your AI systems with you and teach your team to run them. If you ever leave, the systems stay with you. Agents work only on your systems, and a shared 24/7 on-call rotation answers, with response times in writing.
How is this different from Business of One?
Business of One serves owners building AI-first companies. Org of One starts from nonprofit constraints: funders, donors, volunteers, boards and restricted budgets. Utlyze runs both, and both offer Consult and Build on the same terms.
Is this legal, tax or fundraising-compliance advice?
No. What we share about nonprofit law, tax, charitable solicitation, employment, security or privacy is education only. For decisions, talk to a qualified adviser who knows your organization and where it operates.
